Can I encash the whole amount at once after completion of 10 years of SIP in ELSS

Please note that lock-in period for ELSS (Equity Linked Saving Scheme) is three years only. Your query is related to investing in ELSS through monthly SIP route for 10 years, right?

In that case, please note that each SIP instalment will be locked-in for three years – That means the instalment of 1^st June 2016 can be redeemed after 1^st June 2019 and the instalment of 1^st July 2016 after 1^st July 2019 and so on. However, if you continue the SIP for 10 years term, you can withdraw the entire instalments invested upto 7 years only, after 10 years. The instalments invested post 7^th year till end of 10^th year can not be redeemed after 10 years as these instalments will be in lock-in period (i.e. 3 years).
